FRIENDLY AGAINST WEYMOUTH AT HOME

JUNE 3RD 2025

There were some gloomy faces in the car park as ladies arrived and unpacked their clubs for today’s match in the cold wind and rain.  The faces grew longer as we sat in the bar and watched the rain hammering down on the tables outside, but the Met forecast was bang on and we all cheered up as the rain cleared away in perfect time for the start of our match.  

Barbara played a steady round (Mairi didn’t!), but we were always one or two holes down, unfortunately losing on the 18th to our two very good opponents.  Well done to Ruth and Liz, Margaret and Rita who managed to halve their matches, Margaret sinking a lovely long putt on the 18th, phew!  Round of applause for Mary and Jan who won 6&5, making the final result of the day 2-2.  The Weymouth ladies were good company and we were all pleased to play the entire match in dry weather.
